My Why.

To anyone reading this,

Artistry is like oxygen to me. When I was experiencing the abuse I mention later, I turned to the piano in my childhood home. Whether I’m in the kitchen experimenting as a home chef, jamming with friends in a band, belting out karaoke, or crafting fine art photographs, creativity is the thread that weaves through every part of my life. Without it, I would feel lost, unfulfilled, and disconnected from the world.

Photography, in particular, has become my greatest artistic passion. But it’s so much more than just taking pictures. For me, it’s about creating something meaningful—something that has the power to transform how people see themselves and connect with their own stories. It’s about offering an experience that goes beyond the surface and touches the heart.

Why Boudoir Photography Matters to Me

In my work as a boudoir photographer, I’ve found a deeply personal connection to the art form. As a survivor of heinous sexual abuse, I understand what it means to feel powerless, to feel like your body and your sense of self have been taken from you. But I also know what it means to reclaim that power, to rediscover your worth, and to celebrate your strength and beauty on your own terms and it’s a journey I am still on.

When I work with clients in boudoir sessions, I’m not just taking spicy photos—I’m creating a safe, empowering space where they can explore and reclaim their sexual and sensual power. It’s a sacred process, and it’s one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done. To see someone walk into a session feeling unsure or self-conscious and leave feeling radiant, confident, and alive—that’s why I do this. It’s not just about the images; it’s about the transformation that happens along the way.

Why Newborn and Family Photography Matters to Me

My journey as a photographer also led me to work as an in-hospital newborn photographer for a company we’ll call Mommy364. While I loved capturing those precious first moments of life, I quickly grew disgusted by the tactics employed by many of these companies. They often take advantage of families during one of the most emotional and vulnerable moments of their lives, pressuring them into quick decisions and offering subpar products that don’t honor the significance of the occasion.

New parents deserve better. They deserve individualized care, thoughtful attention, and products that are truly heirloom quality. They deserve to have their stories told in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. This is why I’ve made it my mission to offer something different—something that honors the beauty and depth of these moments.

When I work with families, whether it’s a newborn session, a maternity shoot, or a family portrait, I pour my heart into creating images that will stand the test of time. These aren’t just photos; they’re pieces of art that connect people to themselves, to their families, and to their legacies. They’re images that will be passed down through generations, telling stories of love, connection, and belonging.

Why This Work is So Much More Than Making Money

For me, photography isn’t just a job or a way to make money. It’s a calling. It’s a way to make a difference in people’s lives. It’s about creating something that matters—something that has the power to change how people see themselves and how they move through the world.

One of my clients once told me something that has stayed with me ever since. He said, “When I think about looking through the images from the big photo shoot we did, it was the first time I recall seeing myself and thinking, ‘That guy is really attractive,’ or, ‘That guy looks really competent / fun to be around / stylish / etc...’ It was a real turning point for me in being able to accept the value that others see in me.”

That’s why I do this. That’s what drives me. To know that my work can help someone see themselves in a new light, to help them recognize their own worth and beauty—that’s priceless.

This is Why I Want to Live My Life as a Photographer, as YOUR Photographer

Photography is my way of giving back to the world. It’s my way of creating something beautiful, something meaningful, something that lasts. It’s my way of helping people connect with themselves, with their loved ones, and with their own stories.

To anyone who trusts me to capture their moments, their memories, their transformations—thank you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do work that fills my soul and makes me feel alive.

This isn’t just a job to me. It’s my passion, my purpose, and my way of making the world a little brighter, one photograph at a time.

With love and gratitude,

Aza Grey
